Reports and moderation
How to report a listing, profile, message or review, what happens next, decisions, appeals and time limits.
How do I report a listing, a profile, a message or a review?
Next to every listing and profile there is "Report". The in-page form is being built; until it appears, write to us from the Contact page: the link to the listing, profile or conversation, the reason (counterfeit, prohibited item, scam, inappropriate content, harassment, other) and briefly what happened, with up to 5 photos if you have them. You can report without an account too, leaving an e-mail address for the reply.
If you appear in a photo without your consent, report the listing with the reason "Personal data"; we remove it quickly.
We look at every report, usually within 2 working days, and tell you what we decided. The person reported is not told who reported them.
What happens after I report?
The report goes into a queue read by a team member (moderator), in the order they came in. They look at the listing, profile or conversation and at the evidence, then decide. Several reports about the same thing are judged once.
Possible decisions, from mildest to harshest: nothing (the report is dismissed), a warning, hiding the listing, deleting the listing, deleting the review, suspending the account (usually 7 days, at most 365), closing the account. A wrong decision can be reversed (restore).
Decisions about content are always taken by a person. The automatic check only stops what can be fixed on the spot (insults, spam, inappropriate photos) and sends the rest to a person.
I received a moderation decision. What does it mean?
You receive, in your account and by e-mail, a statement in three parts: which rule you broke, what was done (warning, listing hidden or deleted, review deleted, account suspended or closed) and how you can appeal. A warning does not limit your account; it is a sign that next time a harsher measure follows.
I disagree with the decision. How do I appeal?
You can appeal a moderation decision once, within 6 months of it, by writing to us from the Contact page, from the account's e-mail address, with what you think is wrong and your evidence. It is read by a different person than the one who decided first. We reply within 7 days. The time limits in the Terms and conditions prevail.
If after the appeal you still think it is unfair, you can go to alternative dispute resolution (the link in the footer) or to court.
Someone keeps reporting me unfairly
A report alone leads to no measure: a person looks at what was reported. Clearly false or repeated reports against the same person turn against the one making them. You do not need to do anything; if there is also harassment in messages, report the conversation.
What cannot be sold on Seconda?
In short: weapons and ammunition, medicines and substances, tobacco and alcohol, counterfeit products, live animals, stolen goods, documents and IDs, account credentials, named tickets and subscriptions, adult products, anything that breaks the law or the rights of others. The full list, by category, with the exceptions, is in the Rules.
A listing with a prohibited item is checked by a person before it appears publicly; if confirmed, it is deleted and the account gets a warning or, on repetition, a suspension.
Do you publish the decisions you take?
Yes. The law (the European Digital Services Act, DSA) requires a yearly report with the number of reports, the reasons, the decisions taken, appeals upheld and the average response time. The report page fills itself from the data and is published once a year.
